How to Make Your Own Ribbon Shoe Strings

To make these adorable ribbon shoestrings, you will need:

Some sort of fabric glue

Ribbon with a width of 3/8'' (9mm)
The length of mine were 2'7'' REMEMBER NOT ALL LACES ARE THE SAME LENGTH!  I used my other shoelaces as a guide for how long the I need to cut the ribbon. You can actually buy shoelace material on a spool like mine, or you can use any other ribbon that is about 3/8''

Heat Shrink Tubing
I got 3/16'' tubing with a 2:1 ratio
You could even get the next size smaller if you get thinner ribbon.  I bought 5ft on ebay for about $2.75 that's with shipping! The clear tubing is hard to find in places like Lowes and Radio Shack, so I suggest buying it online.  I found that ebay was the only place I could buy a small amount of the tubing.

Pliers or something to hold onto the ribbon as you're heating it.  You could use your hands, but it's too hot for me.

Hair Dryer
I have a helen of troy hair dryer that gets pretty hot.

Scissors

1.  If your shoes already have laces, just cut the ribbon the same length as your original laces.  If not, maybe google lengths of shoelaces.  DO NOT ASSUME YOUR LACES WILL BE THE SAME LENGTH AS MINE.

2.  Most of the plastic ends of shoelaces are about 1/2''.  So I just cut a 1'' piece of tubing and then cut it in half for one of the laces (in total you will need 2'' of plastic tubing for one pair of shoelaces).  Try to make your cuts as straight as possible.

3. Fold one end of your lace in half (hot dog style) only 1/2'' down.  Add a dot of glue to the inside to help hold the fold.  Then add an even smaller dot to the outside of the fold so the laces get glued into the tube.

4.  Insert the ribbon into the 1/2'' tube.  Make the end of the ribbon flush with the end of the tube.  I THINK IT'S BEST TO ADD THE TUBE WHEN THE GLUE IS STILL WET.

5. Use the pliers to hold onto the inner end of the tube.  Begin to blow dry the outer edge of the tube. Once the outer edge shrinks small enough to hold onto the ribbon, you can adjust your hold, and move the pliers so it's only clamping down onto the ribbon (not the ribbon and the tube).  Then finish blow drying until the tube is shrunken tightly around the ribbon.

6.  When you move onto the other side of the shoelace, make sure you the folds are on the same side of the ribbon.  So if your ribbon is laying flat, you DON'T want the left side folded down and right side folded up.  They BOTH need to be either folded up or down.

7.  Make sure the plastic cooled.  Then you can lace up your shoes. :)

Cute and Girly Outfit

Cute and Girly

I think this is such a cute outfit. It's simple but girly and you can wear it with Forever 21's canvas shoes to class or going out with the girls, or you can dress it up with heels for a cute date. The only bank breaker is the nude platforms. I'm sure you can also find a cheaper version of nude heels.  And the greatest thing about this outfit is that you can buy almost everything at Forever 21!

Girly and Romantic Shoe lover

Girly and Romantic Shoe lover

Girly and Romantic Shoe lover by kssmikey featuring glitter shorts

Hey guys! So I just got done figuring out my style!  I also have the problem of LOVING everything when I go into a store, then I get home with an item, and it doesn't go with anything in my wardrobe!  I like so many things that I don't really have a "style."  So, after watching NikkiPhillippi's video How to Find Your Personal Style, she tells you how to figure it out!  After going to Polyvore.com I picked out all of the items that I LOVED, not just liked.  It was hard for me to pick through all the shirts and dresses.  I liked wayyy too many things and it wasn't really helping.  So I started to look at shoes and I EASILY found pieces that I LOVED and could be one cohesive look.  From the shoes, I was able to find outfits that I loved, and went well together.  As you can see above, this was my result.  :)

Videos :(

So youtube videos will slowly be published.  I'm not able to edit any my videos on my computer anymore so I have to wait until I can borrow my boyfriend's Mac.  My next soon-to-be video will be how to make these very cute feather earrings!

IVIScents' Kandee Collection Review

These products are amazing! I believe this company has done great things for the bath and body world!  They don't test on animals and they're products are even safe for sensitive skin.  They're products don't contain  sulfates, parabens, phthalates, genetically modified organisms (GMO’s),  petrochemicals, mineral oils,  or triclosan.  That's amazing!
The line of products I purchased is the Kandee Johnson Birthday cake line.  I love the smell I could just eat the soap! (just kidding!)  Kandee is such an inspiration and I'm so happy I bought these products!

L'oreal Infallible Liquid & Powder Foundation Review & Tutorial

I really do love this foundation.  It's stays on all day at work and it keeps my skin looking great.  I bought the liquid and powder foundation at CVS, it was a BOGO 1/2 off sale.  I apply the liquid with a make up wedge, you can buy bags to the wedges at your local drug store.  Then I apply the powder with the sponge that is given, you could also apply the powder with a powder brush.

Sally Hansen Crackle Overcoat

I love the new Sally Hansen Crackle Overcoat! When I apply it over my favorite nail color, I only apply a VERY thin layer barely covering my whole nail.  The more Crackle you put on, the less it will crack.  The polish also comes in silver, white, black, gold, purple, blue, red, and pink. It costs around $7 at CVS/Pharmacy.

Individual Eyelash Tutorial

Here's my tutorial on how to apply to individual false lashes.  It's actually very east to apply the lashes, it's very difficult to try to glue them on and still be in the camera frame!  I would suggest using a 10x magnified mirror. Apply lashes starting from the outer corner with the longest of your lashes.  Once you fill in to about your pupil (not iris), then do the same on the other side.  Then continue the rest of your eye using the shorter of the 2 lengths.  Good luck!

Review/How To On False Individual Lashes

I am so happy with my Individual False lashes!  After trying and failing to wear strip lashes, these individual lashes are a breeze.  I bought the Starter Kit at Walmart for $7.97.  If you got just the lashes, its a little over $3.  I also just bought Red Cherry brand lashes on Ebay for only $3.63 (that's including shipping!).  So when I get those, I'll do a tutorial and review on that brand.  Keep watchin' and readin'!

This is how the Individual Lashes look.

Sun Labs Review

I recently got Sun Labs Dark(Ultra Dark) sunless tanner.  I love this tanner!!!!  I get a great tan with a nice color.  I would really like to try the Very Dark(Dark Sunsation).
Okay, so I used the Exfoliator that came with the set.  I then pumped some on to a loofah and exfoliated my body.  I think it's best to rub the tanner in from top to bottom or vice versa.  Make sure you completely rub in the tanner!  The only place I got uneven color was on my feet because I didn't rub it in well enough.   The tanner has a nice sweet scent.  All of the products smell good in the set.  The tan takes about 3-4 hours to darken.  The bottle also says to wait 8 hours before getting wet.  Since I did it late at night, I just slept in and then I just took a shower in the morning.
If you have any questions, just ask! :)

Crown Brush Review

This is my review on some Crown Brush products, including the 15 set of brushes featured on Kandee Johnson's video. Overall I am really enjoying all the products. I kind of wish I would have gotten the rainbow eyeshadow palette because there are more purples. And as you know, I LOVE purple eyeshadow! I still love the blush palette, I am so happy I got it.

15 piece Brush Set/Case - $43.99 (with Kandee code $29.99)
10 color Blush Palette - $15.95
